Off-grid solar power system for back-up

This 100Watt solar panel that we installed for a house way back in 2016 for guy we simply call ‘Çolonel’. The owner of the house is a retired real life Colonel in his prime while serving in the Philippine National Police (PNP) force in the time of Mayor Lim.

Because Colonel has a kid with special needs, he doesn’t want him to feel uncomfortable if and when a power outage occurs. So they asked us to install what we call an off-grid system with batteries to power 4 lights and an electric fan. That way, even if there is a power outage, his kid will still see uninterrupted lighting and won’t feel as hot without an electric fan.

Through the batteries and the way we sized the system, the Colonel’s house enjoys lighting every night, rain or shine. The 100Watt solar panel can reliably charge a 100Ah, 12V battery. Before they had a lead acid battery but that battery lost its capacity after 3 years. So just this year in October 2019, we replaced their dead batteries with our newer Lithium Iron Phosphate (LifePO4) batteries.
